Coronavirus COVID-19 Pandemic

April 9, 2020

UGFM is your local Community station and designated emergency broadcaster, providing regular Murrindindi Coronavirus Updates throughout the pandemic.

Our Response

As Australia's first designated Community Radio Emergency Broadcaster, UGFM took immediate action when the COVID-19 pandemic reached our shores:

- **Regular Updates**: We broadcast updates from health authorities, the Murrindindi Shire Council, and emergency services throughout the day

  • **Local Information**: Keeping our community informed about local business changes, support services, and community resources
  • **Mental Health Support**: Providing information about mental health resources and maintaining social connection through our broadcasts
  • **Remote Broadcasting**: Implementing safety measures while maintaining continuous service to our listeners

Community Connection

During this challenging time, community radio plays a vital role in keeping people connected. Our volunteer presenters continued to deliver quality programming, local news, and the music you love - helping to maintain a sense of normalcy and community spirit.

We encourage all listeners to follow health advice and stay informed through reliable sources including UGFM, the Department of Health, and the Murrindindi Shire Council.
